TMBT 2018 - 50km category

Image
We signed up for the race early this year in February, hoping to be fully prepared for it when the time comes. But a month later Fiza was hospitalized with a back problem and then she was busy with her classes & a new career. I also was buried with tons of workload, I always came home late and had to do my office works at home. It left us with almost no training. We only started training a month before the race with 3 times running a week for about 8-15km mileage without trail running. Yes, we didn't do any trail running at all this year. TMBT is well known as the most grueling trail course compared to any other trail event in Malaysia. There are many people who DNF even for the 50km and 30km category and immediately we regret we signed up for 50km, we think we will be DNFed too. To make it worse I left all my 20 packets of power gel given by Laif at home. Then Fiza's water bladder was leaking too. And I brought the wrong shoes for the race. All recipes for a di...

MAEPS-Mardi Trail Run 2015

Image
An 18km trail run in Mardi area in Serdang. The course about 90% trail with 20% deep in jungle steep elevation route which full with fallen logs and long thorns arise along the Nibong palm trunks. Pretty dangerous if you not used to trail running. Nevertheless, we completed the run in 3:05 hrs. It was a great event to burn all the lemang & rendang we had during Hari Raya.

Sabah Adventure Challenge 2014

Image
This is the second time I took part in Sabah Adventure Challenge. Aman and the team had organized the event successfully last year, made me want to join again this year. Last year, we stayed in luxurious Mersilau Lodge, but this year we camped out at Air Panas Poring. Day T-2 I went to KK a day before the registration. Earlier plan to come with Bandit but he has work commitment and had to cancel the trip. Too bad he missed out all the fun. I flew in on board MAS and stayed at Masada Backpackers. I have stayed at many hostels in KK, but nothing like this one. I think this is the best hostel in KK and I met many new friends here ;) Later that night, I went out for dinner with OP Jibui and his colleagues. Then OP Syamdun join us. I haven't meet him for so many year. Actually, he's living in Ranau not far from Poring. Day T-1 The next day, OP Stupe, his wife and his friend picked me up from the hostel and we went to Sutera Harbour for the registration and race bri...
