2021 Triumph Trident 660

Just a month after I bought my SV650, Fiza's friend offered her husband's motorcycle at a very attractive price. Apparently, her husband had given up riding and was willing to let go of the bike. After discussing it with me, I immediately told her to grab it because the mileage was fairly low. They settled the deal in just 15 minutes and over the following weekend, we went to JB to pick up the bike.

To our surprise, the previous owner not only handed over the bike but also everything else, including riding jackets, boots, helmets, gloves, and more. Even the bike came with extras like a windscreen, new levers, engine guard, belly pan, tail bag, and bike cover. He said he didn't have time or passion for riding anymore, which was evident from the fact that the bike had only 174 km mileage after more than a year. The bike had not even had the first service yet!

Before I bought my SV650, I had considered the Triumph Trident 660, but the price was way more expensive. Fiza, on the other hand, got a great deal, as the secondhand price was lower than my SV650 and the bike was in mint 9.9/10 condition.

Despite being modest in terms of power, the Triumph Trident 660 is a characterful and easy-to-ride machine that enjoys commuting and twisty roads. It produces a useful 80 bhp and even has 16,000-km service intervals, which is three times more than the SV650. Additionally, it has better specs than the SV650, such as riding mode, traction control, slipper clutch, TFT dashboard, LED lights, USD forks, and more.

New riders will adore the Trident 660 for its fun and effortless riding, but seasoned riders will also appreciate it because it handles far better than any of its competitors. The bike lacks the playfulness of a two-cylinder MT-07 or SV650, but it makes up for it with its quickness and bottom-end punch. Furthermore, the middleweight naked bike has excellent build quality, rich detailing, and low operating expenses, making it an overall great purchase.
