Ray-Ban Aviator RB3025 001/4F

My 4th Rayban sunglasses and 1st Aviator Metal Frame. It is the design define the styles and become the Ray-Ban icons. It was invented in 1937, originally developed to combat the blinding glare experienced by US Air Force pilots. The lens are photochromic and can be used in door as well. I can be like a celebrity wearing sunglasses at night…..hahahaha

I find ladies wearing Ray-ban Aviator look sexier and more appealing than those wearing stupid oversized Gucci or designer labels below.

Unless you have the model look like above (they look good with any shape of glasses) but if you are just average looking babe… please don’t.

Can you tell me a little more about these glasses? Is it a big change in the lenses when inside or outside? Are they mirrored on the outer side? When looking through the lenses, what color does everything look? yellow, amber?

Thanks. I'm looking at buying the same ones.

Hi Anonymous,

Yes, the change pretty obvious between indoor & outdoor. They don't change under bright light indoor because it takes the UV that the sun provides to activate the chemicals that darken the lenses to shade and protect the eyes. Yes, they mirrored on the outer when darken and the color through lenses is amber. Sometimes, when I drove in heavy rain I preferred to put on the glasses because they brighten up the gloomy weather.

Thanks. One more question: how long does it take the lenses to darken when you go outside? How long to lighten back up when you come inside or the sun goes down?

I didn't really check how fast the lenses turn darken and vice versa but I think almost immediately or maybe a few seconds depends on how bright is the day. One thing you have to remember, the glasses won't turn darken enough if you drive a heavily glass-tinted car that block the UV.

The lens is made from glass? Are they a good fit and comfortable for all day?

Yes, the lens made of glass. So it is a bit heavier compare to those made from plastic like Oakley. I use them only for driving and non-sporting activities.
