BUTM 2019 50km

Image
Our first race this year since the TMBT last year. Same state Sabah but in a different place, at Kiulu. The view of the 10-15km was fantastic! After that not much to see. However, we managed to take a dip in one of the rivers. So refreshing, although the weather was extremely hot. We finished the race in 15:24hr which is worse than TMBT but we had so much fun. As usual, Fiza left me behind the last 4km before the finish line... :P Enjoyable flight We tried a capsule hotel. Very nice & cheap. We watched Capt Marvel. as well Morning run in KK Race kit pick-up then off to AirBnB at Kiulu Race day. View the first 10km was amazing. Steep elevation in the first half Organizer provided good makan at CP. The weather was extremely hot. More forgiving elevation in the 2nd half, unlike TMBT. We finished in 15 hours ++ We went to Jambatan Tamparuli and had dinner with my RMC junior at KK waterfront. Alhamdulilllah, we always had a great time to...

Ride to Taman Negara

Image
Impulse decision for a family ride to Taman Negara. We started the journey from home in the afternoon and arrived at Kuala Tahan around 9pm. The access road from the main road near Jerantut to Kuala Tahan was about 50km distance and it was a scary experience to ride a motorcycle in a dark deep jungle. We rode to Taman Negara Cross Sungai Tembeling to Taman Negara Hiking up Bukit Teresek Boat ride at Sungai Tahan Fish Sanctuary & Lata Berkoh Let's go home!

Ride to Sg Manik, Teluk Intan

Image
On Christmas Eve, we decided to ride to one of our IM friends' hometowns in Teluk Intan. His father has a piece of sawah bendang land behind his house.  We traveled on 2 bikes with Auni & Harraz. Going there we took a route via Kuala Selangor. It was an alternative road to Teluk Intan passing through kilometers of paddy field on the left and right of the road. Although it was a long road, the view was so scenic. We played in the tali air and tried to catch fish. It was a fun trip not only for the kids but for both Fiza & me as well.  Thanks to Latip & family for being a great host. Can't wait to visit his kampung again this year.

1st Anniversary

Happy 1st Anniversary Sayang! You are truly my life’s blessing. You have no idea just how happy you make me. Every day I thank Allah because He cleared the path for us to meet, be friends, fall in love, and get married. I’ve had so many smiles & laughter shared with you during the first year of our marriage. There were also some surprising twists and turns, and ups and downs. I’m not the least bit worried because I know that our love will see us through. Cheers to our first anniversary, and the many more to come with so much love. For the past year, we're together...

Bike Trip to Ironman Langkawi 2018

Image
This year no Ironman race for both of us. So, we decided to go to Langkawi to support our friends who were competing in Ironman and at the same time, we had our long overdue bike trip together. We rode from Sepang to Kuala Perlis in 6 hours to catch Roro Ferry because we brought in the GS onto the island. This is the first time I rode the GS long distance. I rode halfway from home and Fiza rode the bike from Ipoh until after Penang.  It was a very rare experience for a guy to have a lady rides a GS and you are a pillion at the back. She could handle the bike smoothly and at some stretches, she ramped up the throttle to hit 180km/h speed. Yes, she is a speed demon! From Penang onward I took over the bike again. It was so much more fun than driving a car She can handle this beast! At Kuala Perlis, we RV with Syuk & his family. They also drove up from KL because they have 5 kids and it was easier to bring the car onto the island. At Kuala Perlis ...

R1200GS Rallye 2018

I have been dreaming about owning a BMW GS for a long time. It all started back in 2002 when I envisioned taking a bike tour with my wife sitting behind me, hugging me from behind. At that time, the model was the R1150GS. In 2003, I bought an MZ125SM with a beak that closely resembled the GS. Many people mistook it for a BMW, but it was actually a smaller 125cc MZ supermotard. In 2004, I watched the TV series "Long Way Round" and was immediately enamored with the GS after seeing Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman embark on a 31,000km adventure from London to New York, going through Europe, Asia, Alaska, and America. I have had a passion for motorcycles since childhood, but the GS is the ultimate one for me. Unfortunately, big cc motorcycles are very expensive in Malaysia due to import taxes. In 2014, when I was ready to buy a big cc bike, the 1200GS had a hefty price tag that I couldn't justify. The cost was equivalent to half the price of my apartment, so I opted for a ch...
